Lefthand Watershed Oversight Group (LWOG) has been awarded a grant from the Colorado Department of Local Affairs Community Development Block Grant – Disaster Recovery (CDBG-DR) Resilience Planning Program. This grant has been awarded to develop a handbook/manual, stream stewardship and/or management plans, and outreach/education program that will support landowners with stream stewardship activities (or Best Management Practices). We are excited to be working in partnership with the Saint Vrain Creek, the Big Thompson Watershed and the Little Thompson Watershed Coalitions.

We recently updated our mission statement for the handbook. Check out our new mission statement below!

“The purpose of the Stream Recovery and Stewardship Handbook is to create
an educational resource for private landowners to better understand their
creek-side properties in the context of the larger watershed, what they can
do to practice good stream stewardship and when/how they should engage
outside help for recovery or stewardship projects.”
