LWOG is assessing restoration needs in the watershed, identifying potential funding sources, obtaining and managing grants, preparing RFPs, contracting with engineering firms and contractors, overseeing planning and implementation projects, and monitoring the effectiveness of restoration projects. These projects benefit residents, stakeholders, and visitors in Left Hand Creek Watershed. The goal is to reduce risk of loss of life and property damage from future floods, reduce erosion and sediment transport, stabilize creek bed and banks, restore functioning flood plains, restore aquatic and riparian habitat, and enhance recreation. Currently, LWOG is implementing 12 flood recovery restoration projects as part of this program. You can learn more about our ongoing restoration projects here!
